GORE® Aerospace Ethernet Cables - Termination Instructions - TE Connectivity® CeeLok FAS-X® Connector System
Technical Information, 英語
W. L. Gore & Associates developed the following procedures based on our best practices for terminating GORE® Aerospace Ethernet Cables with the TE Connectivity® CeeLok FAS-X® Connector System, including pin and socket versions. By following these steps, you can maximize the performance of your assembly in avionics networks, cabin management systems, digital video systems, Ethernet backbones and other aviation networking applications.
Check out the Termination Instructions and follow the detailed, step-by-step guidance.
Please note: While these Termination Instructions offer a helpful guide, they should always be used alongside current connector system manufacturing instructions for best results.
About the Termination Instructions
These Termination Instructions are intended solely for terminating Gore’s Ethernet cables with the pin and socket versions of the TE Connectivity® CeeLok FAS-X® Connector System. They first detail the tools and materials you’ll need, which include:
- Needle nose pliers, scalpel, tweezer scissors, cutters or suitable equivalent tools
- Wire strippers (45-125)
- Polyimide tape (S-10518)
- Crimpers (M22520/2-01 / AFM8) and metal tweezer (M81969/8-01)
- Socket positioner M22520/2-07 (K40) and pin positioner M22520/2-09 (K42)
- Installation removal tool (M81969/14-01)
- Probe/pick
Preparing the cable and parts, terminating the pin connector (Termination A) and socket connector (Termination B), closing the connectors, and performing the required testing are all thoroughly covered with easy-to-follow, step-by-step instructions and photos to help you ensure proper termination.
Performing Required Testing
You should perform all required testing. Gore recommends the assembly should, at the minimum, be verified for proper wiring and continuity, and checked for shorts. You may be required to complete additional testing by local authorities and/or end-users. Gore recommends testing the final assembly using an advanced signal integrity tester such as the Fluke Networks® DSX-5000 or equivalent.
